Do The Mic Thing at The Harrow Club

DTM🎙️T is currently delivering music production, writing and recording workshops to young people and mental health service users at the Harrow Club studios and at Rugby Portobello Amplify S in West London.

The young people have been expressing their thoughts and feelings on the mic recording songs about school, their family, life, bereavement and loss.

Mental health service users at Do The Mic Thing are supported in writing and recording original songs  about their mental health journey.

Do The Mic Thing at Rugby Portobello Trust

Do The Mic 🎙 Thing has been working with young people in Amplify Studios at The Rugby Portobello Trust.

For the last 6 weeks on a Tuesday's with the girls night project Athena and the Friday's Amplify Nights.

The young people created an album with Finding Rhythms and DTM🎙T was tasked with writing and rehearsing with the young people for a live Open Mic performance to celebrate the release of the album.

Athena Girls Night

The Girls Night produced some very talented young people aged 11-19.

We wrote a song about their lives recording a little bit the song each week.

Each session I would ask the young girls how their week was and we would write about it.

Isabelle sings Leanne La Havas 'Paper Thin' at Rugby Portobello Trust Open Mic.

I had the pleasure of working with the smooth sultry sounds of Isabelle as her vocal coach and  performance tutor. Watch out for new material from Isabelle with Do The Mic 🎙 Thing.

It's S'Me singing Mary's Prayer at Rugby Portobello Trust Open Mic.

After delivering Mental Health Music Production and Performance workshops with Rugby Portobello as a Mentor, I believe in supporting the young artist by putting in a performance myself with the hope to inspire and give confidence to their own performance.

I will write, sing, rap and do backing vocals with my artists to make them feel comfortable in the process.

It is important that the you are able to Do The Mic 🎙  Thing that you are asking of your students in your workshops.
